The All-white World of a little black boy

Scroll up to the cover photo and look closely. Do you find anything unusual? A little boy playing in the snow. Perfectly normal. But it wasn’t when Ezra Jack Keats created this picture book in the 60s. Everyone at that time would notice one thing: the boy is black, which was a powerful alarm that woke readers up from the all-white world of children’s books. Nowadays, colour isn’t as much an issue as it was in those days; but the picture book still stays in our heart as everyone can feel the joy of seeing the snow-white world for the first time.
